Jack Naglick is 13 years old and in eighth grade at the Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School for Boys in Bloomfield Hills. Jack began playing the piano when he was five years old, and he is currently studying with Ms. Catherine Rollin. Jack is also the pianist in the Jazz Band at school, and he studies jazz repertoire with Mr. Irwin Krinsky. Among the highlights of Jack’s work as a pianist are placing second at the Michigan Music Teachers Association (MMTA) Concerto Competition and first in the prestigious Metropolitan Detroit Musicians League (MDML) Young Artist Competition in 2016. As a result of winning the MDML competition, Jack was featured at a solo Honors Recital. Another truly exciting moment in Jack’s young career was being selected as a winner of the Toledo Symphony League’s 2016 Young Artist Competition. In March 2017, Jack made his debut with a professional orchestra when he performed Robert Muczynski’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. Jack also plays the oboe, and he enjoys composing music, reading, bird-watching and playing table tennis.
