trinity in the woods episcopal church

Farmington Hills, Michigan

It’s been a great year for Trinity in the Woods Episcopal Church, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. After years of planning and fund-raising, major elements of the church’s capital campaign for building improvements are finally being realized. This includes installation of a new Rodgers Imagine 351 3-manual organ.

The process began in Summer 2019 when Trinity’s Director of Music Ministry, Rachael Rose, expressed the need to replace their ailing 1980s 2-manual Allen organ. Upon approval by the vestry and with support of Rector Julia Huttar Bailey, the church reached out to Steinway Piano Gallery of Detroit for a consultation and organ demonstration appointment. Steinway Piano Gallery’s church organ team of Tim Hoy and Christopher Claypoole personally met with them to assist in their decision. They agreed that the Imagine 351 3-manual organ would best serve the needs of the church’s music program. The organ features Rodgers’ latest DSCore direct streaming technology, allowing the organist instant access to all the organ’s 323 voices.

Upon delivery of the organ by JPs Piano Moving, Oxford, MI, the installation took about one week to complete and was done entirely by Christopher and Tim of Steinway Piano Gallery. In addition to installing the organ, Steinway Gallery also built a beautiful custom oak rolling platform for the organ console so that it could be easily transported to any area of the worship space. The organ debuted on Christmas Eve, just in time for Trinity’s services.

If your church is in need of a new piano or organ to amplify your worship setting, please call Tim Hoy at 248-560-9200 for a complete consultation.
